officer eric redding
Officer Eric Redding is a retired military veteran who was enlisted in the US Coast Guard for nine years and also served 13 years in the Maryland Army National Guard. He was called up to active duty during the Iraq War for operation Iraq Freedom from 2003 to 2004. During his time with the US Army, he received several good conduct and combat awards and a letter of accommodation for providing convoy security for civilian personnel that were operating in the war zone.
Eric served 21 years with the Baltimore City Police Department where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. During his tenure with the Baltimore City Police, he worked in several units such as Patrol, Community Policing, Violent Crimes Task Force, District Drug Units, Shift Commander and the District Detective Unit where he investigated robberies and shootings.
Upon retiring from the Baltimore City Police Department, he joined the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office where he served on Court Security, the Warrant Squad, and in Civil Process. While at the Sheriff’s Office he received Merit and Active Shooter awards for the incident that occurred on June 28th, 2018, at the offices of the Capital Gazette. After eight years he retired from the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office. He was subsequently employed with Paragon Systems, Inc. where he was a Contractual District Manager for the Court Security Program of the Federal District Court of the District of Columbia (Washington, DC.)
Eric joined the Crofton Police Department as of July 21, 2023.
